Before
The shop ran on a website template. Quotes and orders passed through a third-party tool that sat between the form and the shop, and when that tool failed, orders went missing: five had to be recovered by hand.
The product catalog was screenshots of a PDF. A customer with a custom profile sent a photo of a sketch or a PDF by email, and nobody could see where their order stood.
What we did
Its own quote and order forms
Requests and orders go straight from the form to the shop's team, and every order is logged.
A tool for drawing a profile
A customer draws the shape in the browser, sets the sizes, sees a price and sends it to the shop.
Order updates by text
Customers choose to get order status by text, email or both, from a separate line.
A real product catalog
Panels, flashings and paint colours with their real colours and codes, in place of PDF screenshots.
The blog moved home
All 14 old articles moved onto the main site at their old addresses, and ten new ones came out between July 4 and August 26.
Ads and AI search
Google and Meta ads bring new contractors to the site, and the pages are written so AI assistants can read and quote them.
After
The new site went live on July 8, 2026. From July 1 to August 28 customers placed 93 orders through the new order page, 46 in July and 47 in August. The same site brought in 22 quote requests.
Visits grew from 583 in the two months before to 1,777, and the average visit grew from 2 minutes 41 seconds to 3 minutes 58 seconds. The site came up on Google 2,430 times, against 808.
AI assistants moved too. On August 28, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity cited the site in 94% of their answers to six product questions, up from half on July 2. A wider check on September 24, with new questions, found it cited in 29 of 33 answers, 83 times in all, against 18 for the next website.
